Security Screen Care & Maintentance

The finishes used on Amplimesh SupaScreen products are of outstanding quality and are particularly long lasting and environment resistant. Like all fittings around the home certain routine maintenance is needed to look after the original presentation in the items.

Anodised Aluminium

Surfaces should always be made clean by prompt removal of dust, dirt, grime and foreign matter using clear water and a small amount of gentle cleaning agent. Do not under any circumstances use any abrasive type washing agent (Ajax or similar) or washing material (such as steel wool) as it will damage the anodised surface. Thoroughly rinse all remainder of washing agent using clean water.

Powdercoated Aluminium

Lodged debris takes up moisture and retains it next to the powder coated surface, damaging the finish. Materials should be maintained clean by timely removal of all dust particles, dirt, grime and any foreign matter working with a gentle cloth or sponge with clear warm water and a small amount of mild detergent. Carefully rinse down any residue of detergent with with clean water to avoid damage of the coating that may come about as a consequence of soap deposition. Do not under any instances make use of any abrasive type washing chemical (Ajax or similar). If small scuff marks occur, they can be buffed out with a good quality auto polish. Caution is required to make certain the coated surface is not removed.

Frequency

Frequency of maintenance is generally reliant on the site of the building. In most situations maintenance may be undertaken every 3-4 months. Products fitted close to more harsh environment including aquatic or industrial surroundings should be cleaned every 2-4 weeks.
