As with all commercial warranties, your Amplimesh® security doors must be cared for with regular cleaning and maintenance. Giving your security screen doors a little love and attention every few months will not only maintain your warranty but will keep your screen looking great and performing at maximum efficiency.
Exceeding Australian Security Standards
(Australian Standard AS5039.3: 2023, Part 3 Methods of Test)
The dynamic impact test was created to imitate an intruder attempting to kick, shoulder or otherwise force their way through the screen. The accepted and standardised test to replicate this is five 200 joule impacts (Energy).

The test simulates an intruder using a lever such as an industrial large scale screwdriver to try and pry open locking and hinge areas on a security door or window screen installation. The force applied is up to 450 N (45 kg) for 20 seconds, above and beyond the strength of many would-be intruders. All hinging and locking locations need to resist this attack with no gap greater than 150mm being generated.

In cyclonic regions glazed windows and doors may need to be protected from flying debris. SupaScreen® Stainless Steel security products have been tested to resist a 4kg, 100mm x 50mm timber travelling at 34m/s fired from an air canon. The screen is then shot an additional five times with 8mm steel ball bearings, shot into the screen at the same speed.

Amplimesh StormGuard® cyclone screens have been specifically engineered to meet and exceed the requirements of Australia’s highest wind regions, achieving impact results of up to 44m/s. Amplimesh StormGuard® screens also offer unprecedented levels of security, exceeding the Australian standard by over 20 times.
Amplimesh Stormguard® security screens are assembled into a high-quality door and window frames using our Amplimesh® patented isolated screw clamp (ISC) System technology. The ISC system combines extreme wedge pressure, high friction materials, and custom-engineered screw clamps to efficiently absorb and disperse impact energy equally along the frame, ensuring every single mesh strand is secured.
Typical screw clamp systems screw through the mesh directly into an aluminium frame, increasing the chance of galvanic corrosion (electrolysis). Amplimesh StormGuard® ISC system uses stainless steel screws that bite into an engineered plastic retainer, completely isolating the screws from the frame.
Care & maintenance
The finishes that are applied to Amplimesh® products are of high quality and are extremely durable and weather resistant. Like all fixtures around the home some maintenance is required to preserve the original appearance of the product.

Surfaces should be kept clean by prompt removal of all dust, dirt, grime and any foreign matter using a soft sponge with clean water and a small amount of mild detergent. Thoroughly wash off any residue of detergent with clean water.
- Do not under any circumstances use an abrasive cleaning agent (Ajax or similar) or cleaning material (such as steel wool).
- If small scratches occur, they can be buffed out using a good quality car polish.
- Frequency of cleaning is largely dependent on the location of the building. In most circumstances, cleaning may be carried out every 3-4 months.
- Amplimesh® products installed close to more severe conditions, such as marine or industrial environments, should be cleaned every 2-4 weeks.
